We are a truly international University with over 4,000 international students on campus, and 3,530 students on courses delivered with our partners overseas.
Edinburgh Napier is one of Scotland's top universities for graduate employability (HESA 2011). Their study of last summer's graduates showed that 93.2% of our students are in jobs or further study six months after graduating.
Edinburgh Napier is the only UK University to offer a programme which develops the employability skills sought by employers, called Confident Futures. Edinburgh Napier’s Employer Mentoring Programme was awarded Mentoring Project of the Year at the Scottish Mentoring Network conference 2011.
Our staff
We have a total of 1,612 members of staff: 1,030 faculty based, and 582 working in our professional service departments.
Our alumni
Edinburgh Napier University has over 67,000 active graduates who play a dynamic role in University life as volunteers, supporters and donors. Some of our well-known graduates include Tavish Scott MSP, BBC broadcaster Catriona Shearer, photographers David Eustace and Colin Baxter, and film director Lynne Ramsay.
Edinburgh Napier confers honorary degrees on distinguished individuals across a wide range of fields. Those recognised include Sir Sean Connery, J K Rowling OBE, Sir Bill Gammell, Prof Anne Glover CBE, Dr Nigel Planer, Dr Christpher Brookmyre, Sir Peter Maxwell-Davies and Dr Lindsay Stewart OBE.
Research & consultancy
We have nine dedicated Institutes for Research & Innovation to streamline business access to our services and provide a rapid, responsive, customer focused service.
Commercially, the University has developed a number of successful spinout companies attracting substantial funding. These include CardioDigital, Micro Emissive Displays, Surfactant Solutions and Freelight Systems.
