In the School of Life, Sport and Social Sciences, we offer a wide range of Biological Sciences and Sport & Exercise Science degrees, four Psychology degrees, as well as degrees in Social Sciences, Criminology and Complementary Healthcare.
Studying these courses opens doors to a variety of careers. You could find yourself researching cancer cures, applying psychological and social science knowledge to help individuals and communities, investigating the world’s endangered species and environments or improving the training of elite athletes.
Course features
Specialist state-of-the-art teaching laboratories for Biomedical Science, Environmental Biology, Forensic Biology and Microbiology, as well as an environmental chamber where you can study the effects of different environmental and atmospheric conditions on the body during exercise.
There are new purpose-built Psychology laboratories with eye trackers and an event-related potential (ERP) machine, and specialist Complementary Healthcare clinics.
Some of the programmes include field trips within the UK and abroad, and all are taught by experts in their field who are involved in a wide range of research activity.
Final year students spend time on a cutting-edge research project, which can produce work that is published in scientific journals. There is also the possibility of a study year or project abroad.
