Indian Subcontinent Scholarships 2011/12

Students from Indian Subcontinent (India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Nepal etc) are eligible to apply for merit based scholarships of GBP £1000 and GBP £2000 for entry in September 2011 and January 2012.

South East Asia Scholarships 2011/12

Students from Thailand, Taiwan and Vietnam are eligible to apply for merit based scholarships of GBP £2000 for entry in September 2011.

African Scholarships 2011/12

Chinese students graduating from Edinburgh Napier

The Ian Kay Scholarships

The Ian Kay Scholarship provides funding to help Chinese students to study at Edinburgh Napier University, and to help students from Edinburgh Napier University to study in China. The Ian Kay Scholarships are available at undergraduate and postgraduate level.

Initially the Beijing Scholarship Committee, which will determine awards, will offer scholarships as follows:

Up to £10,000 per year towards the costs of a student coming from China to undertake a one year postgraduate degree programme at the University.

And / or: Up to £9,000 per year for three years for an undergraduate student from China wishing to study at the University.

And / or: Funding all or part of the costs for an Edinburgh Napier student to undertake a course of study in China.

Once a candidate has been selected for an award, the level of the Scholarship will be carefully judged bearing in mind the student’s educational fees and living costs. Students, or prospective students should apply for scholarships in their chosen area by completing the application form.

Scotland's Saltire Scholarship

Group picture of international studentsEdinburgh Napier offer eight to ten postgraduate scholarship awards of £2,000 for each year as part of the Scotland's Saltire Scholarships programme. 

All Scholarships have been allocated for 2011/12 academic year.  Details on how to apply for 2012/13 will be available early 2012.

Santander Scholarship Fund - Santander Universities

Edinburgh Napier University is part of the Santander Universities network. Through this partnership Santander is funding scholarships, mobility awards and projects at the University Santander Scholarship fund.

Edinburgh Napier University has entered an agreement with the Santander Group to promote closer ties between Scotland and Iberamerica. The Scholarship is broken down into the following categories to provide support for:

  • The recruitment of postgraduate students from the 11 Iberamerican countries (Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Mexico, Peru, Puerto Rico, Uruguay, Venezuela, Spain and Portugal)
  • Mobility grants for travel to and from Iberamerican countries

Students, staff or prospective students should apply for scholarships in their chosen area by completing the application form.

 

Students from Hong Kong outside Craiglockhart campusEdinburgh Napier University Hong Kong Open Scholarships

The recipient is awarded a scholarship worth up to £9,000 for each year of study at Edinburgh Napier University, for a maximum of four years.

This scholarship is open to Hong Kong residents who have been accepted on to any full time Edinburgh Napier undergraduate degree course.

Ian Tomlin Malta Music Scholarship

Two scholarships are available per year for students from Malta, to cover full tuition fees for the duration of the degree at the Ian Tomlin School of Music at Edinburgh Napier University.

Garrick Scholarship

One scholarship is available per year for international full time postgraduate students, to cover full tuition fees for the MA Screen Project Development or MA Screenwriting, or half fees on the MFA Film Practice at Edinburgh Napier University's Screen Academy Scotland. 

To be considered for the Garrick Scholarship you must have applied and been accepted to one of the Screen Academy Scotland postgraduate courses. Find out more about the courses and how to apply on the Screen Academy website, or email Michele Marcoux on M.Marcoux@napier.ac.uk for more information.

Chevening Scholarships

These scholarships, funded by the Foreign and Commonwealth Office and administered by the British Council, are prestigious awards which enable overseas students to study in the United Kingdom.

Scholarships are offered in over 150 countries and enable talented graduates and young professionals to become familiar with the UK and gain skills which will benefit their countries.

The Chevening programme currently provides around 2,300 new scholarships each year for postgraduate studies or research at UK Institutions of Higher Education.
