The People Behind the Pages – Making books in Scotland

The exhibition was on display from Saturday 13th September 2008 until March 2009. At the Museum of Edinburgh

The exhibition is curated by the Scottish Centre for the Book at Napier University drawing on its Scottish Archive of Printing and Publishing History Records (SAPPHIRE). The exhibition celebrates the work of authors, publishers, printers, booksellers and librarians in creating books for readers. It contains material on these occupations, using film and sound clips featuring a diversity of voices and roles. The centrepiece of the exhibition is a display of the stages in the development of a book from conception to sale. The book featured is Rabbie’s Rhymes by James Robertson and Matthew Fitt to be published by Itchy Coo, the Scottish publisher.
