Short-Term Scientific Missions (STSM)
The aim of a Short-Term Scientific Mission (STSM) or exchange visit is to strengthen existing networks within the Action by providing financial support to scientists.
This allows scientists to visit an institution or laboratory in another country signed up to the Action (this can include Non-COST countries) to foster collaboration, to learn a new technique or to take measurements using instruments and / or methods not available in their own institution / laboratory.
STSMs are particularly intended for young scientists.

Training Schools will be organised in line with the outline plan the Action. However, this outline plan is not cast in stone and additional training schools could be added if there is deemed to be sufficient demand.
The training schools are aimed at:
- Widening the knowledge of the Action activities
- Providing intensive training on a new and emerging subject
- Offering familiarisation with unique equipment or know how in one of the laboratories of the Action.
Training Schools are not intended to provide general training or education. Those attending a Training School are typically - but not exclusively - young researchers from across Europe. Furthermore, Training Schools may also cover appropriate re-training as part of life-long learning.
A Training School can also take the form of an Early Stage Researchers (less than PhD + 10 years) network created as a "think tank".
COST financial support covers organisation of the school and support for the participation of both trainers (including external experts) and trainees.

Another activity in this Task Force is to encourage publication activities related to the Action, especially those resulting from joint activities within the network.
In addition, our aim is to maintain an updated list of all publications that are being produced during the Action lifetime with connection to the Action.
