Sexual Orientation
At Edinburgh Napier University, we don't care who you are attracted to. But we do care if as a result of your sexual orientation you are disadvantaged. The Equality Act 2010 has strengthened the protection provided by extending it to cover discrimination by perception or association.
This means that discrimination in a range of important areas, from hospitals to schools in the public sector and B&Bs to banking in the private sector, is outlawed. In Plain English, if something is offered you are entitled to receive it regardless of your sexual orientation, perceived or otherwise.
