Eco-Schools
The City of Edinburgh Council held their annual Eco-Schools celebratory event at Craiglockhart on Wednesday 1st June 2011. We were delighted to be involved and share our environmental work at Edinburgh Napier. It is important that the environmental knowledge gained by school pupils, from nursery to secondary, is transferred to university life. Not only by students choosing to study specific environmental courses, but by all students. In a recent study 'First-year attitudes towards, and skills in, sustainable development' carried out by the National Union of Students they found that sustainability concerns are significant in students' university choices. While over 80% of the 5,763 student participants in the study noted that they believe that sustainability skills are important to their future employers.
