Job Summary:
Edinburgh Napier University will open a new Sports Centre in January 2011 as part of the redevelopment of its Sighthill campus in Edinburgh.

We are seeking to appoint a new Community Sports Development Officer to enhance, develop and expand the range of sports related opportunities available to the local community. Working with University sports staff and the Napier Students Association sports clubs, the successful appointee will have a changing focus during the run up to the opening of the Sports Centre. Initially based at the Fitness Suite at our Craiglockhart campus, the post holder will move to the new Sports Centre when it opens.

You should have a degree or equivalent in sport/leisure or related subject or have extensive and relevant work exprience. You should have experience of working with sports groups and young people in a community setting, and identifying opportunities for development of sport or fitness activities linked to our new Sports Centre.  The role offers opportunity for a flexible part-time contract, with a requirement for weekend and evening working. Detailed knowledge of a broad range of sports, excellent communication skills and a keen interest in sport are essential requirements of the post.
