Job Summary:

The University’s commitment to equality and diversity is embedded in our strategic plan, Equal Opportunities statement and our recently published Disability Equality and Gender Equality schemes. We now need an exceptional individual to review the University’s current position against action plans included in the existing equality schemes, legal compliance, policy implementation, performance benchmarking and best practice, to ensure progress is being made against targets, milestones and deadlines.

You will take a lead in building knowledge, skills and experience in all aspects of the diversity agenda through the provision of your professional expertise, a clear communication strategy and delivery of learning interventions. With a relevant degree and/or extensive experience in an expert diversity role, proven organisational and influencing skills, you will work collaboratively with colleagues at all levels, students and those external to the University to promote awareness and develop good practice. By using developed IT skills, including data manipulation, reporting and analysis, you will ensure effective data monitoring and recommend actions in accordance with best practice and statutory requirements. An effective communicator, you should be influential in promoting and improving equality and diversity for all our students, staff and other users of our services.
