The Transport Research Institute (TRi) at Napier University is seeking an individual who will be responsible for research administration and who will provide support, guidance and assistance to members of the Transport Research Institute (TRi) in the preparation of research and consultancy proposals. The appointee will also be responsible for the appropriate administration of research grants and consultancy contracts.
You should be educated to HND/Degree level or equivalent, with prior administrative experience, preferably in a higher educational environment. In addition, the successful candidate will have experience in: developing and implementing procedures and systems, preferably in a research active environment; excellent communication and organisational skills; the ability to work under pressure and to meet deadlines; and experience of working in a position of responsibility. Knowledge and experience of Microsoft Office applications is essential (particularly the use of Excel), as is the ability to compose, edit and produce effective written material. Knowledge relating to the generation of grants and research contracts would be an advantage, especially in the area of transport and related research.
The post holder will report to Prof. Kevin Cullinane, Director of the Transport Research Institute (TRi).
