Wider Access and Retention Services delivers a portfolio of high quality academic support activities designed to contribute to student success and progression across the university. We are extending the scope of these activities and wish to appoint two highly motivated, skilled and experienced Student Advisers to join our team.
You will work proactively and collaboratively with colleagues across the university to support Napier’s student retention and success strategy. This will involve working with students on a one to one basis as well as delivering academic support activities to groups.
You should have a degree or equivalent and significant experience of working with students in higher or further education. You will have an awareness of the barriers faced by students from non traditional backgrounds and should be able to demonstrate a flexible and sensitive approach to working with a diverse range of students, balancing empathy with a sense of pragmatism. With experience of gathering and interpreting data to improve service provision, you will have excellent interpersonal and problem solving skills.

Appointments will normally be made at the bottom of the salary scale.
