Edinburgh Napier University is delighted to present ‘The City in Scottish Literature’ by James Robertson, the University’s Writer in Residence.

James is a novelist, short story writer, poet, translator, editor and publisher. Born in 1958, he studied history at The University of Edinburgh and worked in the book trade before becoming a full-time writer.
 
His many publications include two collections of stories, four novels; The Fanatic, Joseph Knight, The Testament of Gideon Mack and And the Land Lay Still, poetry, essays, a collection of Scottish ghost stories and a dictionary of Scottish quotations.
