Edinburgh Napier’s Student and Alumni Achievement Awards 2010
On Tuesday 14 December, the Development Office held a celebratory reception in The Turmeau Hall, Craighouse Campus, to thank the University’s scholarship and prize donors for their contributions to Edinburgh Napier’s student experience.
Edinburgh Napier awards £250,00 worth of scholarships per year, as well as 35 student prizes. It was a pleasure to bring together so many scholars and donors at this lively, festive event.
The evening also acknowledged the achievements of Edinburgh Napier students and alumni with the presentation of the annual Achievement Awards. The Awards recognise outstanding achievements and identify those who have shown excellence and service in their personal and professional lives.
The Achievement Awards were generously sponsored by Dr John and Mrs Ann Cumming, Trustees of the CumingaSaga Trust.

The Cummings said: "Over the years we have come to think of Edinburgh Napier not just as a University but also as a ‘family’ consisting of the Court, the academics, the students, and the friends it has built up over the years - all under the leadership of the Chancellor and Principal & Vice-Chancellor.
“There are still, today, many who think that the pursuit of excellence is somehow just elitist. But, does a family not share the nurturing of the individual members, seeing this as its main purpose - empowering everyone to fulfil themselves. That is why, as sponsors of the Achievement Awards, we feel that we are indeed part of this spirit of fulfilment. We both feel it is a privilege to share in this recognition of ongoing success.”
