Graduate Wins Mechanical Engineering Award
Paul Cummins was named Young Member of the Year at the Institution of Mechanical Engineers Vision Awards. He was awarded the prize at the Institution's annual dinner, held at the Dorchester Hotel in London.
Vision Awards and scholarships are given to apprentices, graduates and undergraduate engineers from across the UK, to recognise the importance of science and engineering to the economy and to young engineer's importance in the global response to environmental issues.
Paul was nominated by the Aberdeen young member panel (YMP), for his work as Senior Liaison Officer - a recently created role which required dealings with large organisations and senior engineers. Paul excelled in the task of communicating the thoughts and concerns of young engineers to their more experienced associates. Additionally, he helped with the organisation and presentation of events and other promotional activities.
