Liberal Democrats leader, and Edinburgh Napier graduate, visits Edinburgh Napier
Tavish Scott MSP visited Edinburgh Napier’s Biofuel Research Centre earlier this month to discuss renewable energy.
The Leader of the Scottish Liberal Democrats met with Professor Robin Mackenzie, Vice Principal (Research & Knowledge Transfer) and Professor Martin Tangney, Director of Biofuel Research Centre, to examine secondary generation Biofuels and Edinburgh Napier’s involvement and research.
Edinburgh Napier University’s Biofuel Research Centre (BfRC) is the first of its kind in the UK. The University officially launched the BfRC at a prestigious event at its Craighouse Campus in December 2007. Hosted by Professor Morag Prowse, Dean of the Faculty of Health, Life and Social Sciences, the ceremony was attended by many high profile delegates from industry, academia and business.
Since the launch, the BfRC continues to develop from strength to strength. Widely hailed as our best defence against rising greenhouse gas emissions and the depletion of fossil fuel reserves, the BfRC is committed to developing the expertise and resources to aid the development and large scale production of the next generation of biofuel in the UK and further afield.
