What we believe

We aspire to develop high quality leaders and management practitioners who make a positive and enduring difference to the wellbeing of individuals, organisations and society. Our purpose is to bridge the knowledge-practice gap in ways that enable the realisation of potential and wellbeing in employment.

Narrowing the Knowledge-Practice Gap

The ILPM has created The Knowledge Exchange (KE) that acts as a hub for practitioners and academics, and which feeds into specialist KE clusters (see diagram). The model allows people to work together in creative ways that help bridge the knowledge-practice gap in business management and HRM.

The types of services offered include:

  • consultancy
  • training
  • short courses
  • credit rated learning
  • long term collaborative projects
  • advice

Develop your Career

The ILPM offers bespoke training, master classes and short courses for organisations, which may be accredited if required. In addition we accredit existing, in-house training and as a licensed upgrading centre we assess and upgrade clients with relevant experience to Chartered membership of the CIPD.

A wide range of specialist educational programmes are available at both masters and undergraduate levels. Our flagship programme, the MSc Human Resource Management is designed to reflect the changing role of HRM in the development and implementation of employment policies and procedures. Our MSc leads to Graduate membership of both the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD) and the Chartered Management Institute (CMI).

All our educational and professional development activities are designed to make a significant contribution towards the enhancement of HRM and leadership practice, realising potential and improving employee wellbeing.
