EU Students

Edinburgh Napier is a forward thinking and dynamic University located in the beautiful and cosmopolitan capital city of Scotland. With over 13,000 students from over 70 countries, we are one of the most popular Universities in Scotland. We have recently invested £30 million into the redevelopment of the Craiglockhart Campus which is now home to our Business School. The Business School is a modern, vibrant, stimulating, 21st Century teaching facility and, with over 4,000 students, it is the largest in Scotland.

The Business School has a long history of links with Universities in Europe, primarily under the banner of the Socrates Student Exchange. Almost 10% of Business School students come from other European countries, and we have signed agreements to cooperate with a number of Universities in France and Germany.

We have a large number of students from EU countries, as well as many students from China and the Far East, along with Scottish students, so you will have the opportunity to make new friends from all around the world.

Moving to a new country, even for six months or a year, is a big step. At The Business School we want that step to be easy, enjoyable and worthwhile. Our Life in Edinburgh section provides you with useful information to make coming to Edinburgh Napier University an easy and enjoyable step. You will find all of the most essential information needed for coming to Edinburgh Napier University in this guide, and hopefully a little bit more.

If you are interested in using Edinburgh Napier University to continue your studies please contact us for further information.

Tuition Fees

Normally, the Student Awards Agency for Scotland will pay the tuition fees for students coming from other EU countries to study in Scotland. However, there are some restrictions, and we would strongly advise that you apply to SAAS as soon as possible to make sure that you are eligible to have your fees paid for you. This is especially important if either you OR your parents do not have full nationality in a EU country.

If SAAS decide that you are not eligible to have your tuition fees paid, then you will have to pay Edinburgh Napier University yourself, and this can be very expensive. You can contact SAAS at the address below:

How To Apply

The UCAS Application Process
If you have already applied to Edinburgh Napier University the first offer that you'll receive from UCAS will be a conditional offer. This means that Edinburgh Napier is prepared to offer you a place if you meet certain conditions. These are normally that you can prove you have successfully completed 2 years of studies at a University in a European country. There may also be additional conditions about the level of your English language. You must reply to UCAS as soon as possible to say that you accept this conditional offer.

Next, you must send a fax copy of the results of your first two years at University to Edinburgh Napier, to prove that you have successfully met our conditions for allowing you to enter our third year (if you are applying to enter our fourth year, you will have to provide proof that you have successfully completed three years University education in another European Country). You must do this as soon as your results are available, as UCAS will not upgrade your offer to unconditional status until this proof has been received by Edinburgh Napier.

When you receive your unconditional offer from UCAS, you should once again reply to them quickly to say that you accept this unconditional offer.

Please note that it is only when you have accepted the unconditional offer in writing that you are guaranteed a place on the BA Business Management degree. A conditional offer does NOT guarantee a place. Further information can be found at the UCAS website.
