A number of specialist centres at Edinburgh Napier University work with businesses, individuals and communities to encourage continual and flexible learning.
Our Project Development Unit is very successful in acquiring external funding which enables us to run innovative projects and has helped many local small or new businesses to develop and grow. Other projects focus on working with disadvantaged individuals or communities, allowing them access to learning or employment opportunities. We work in partnership with other departments within the university, and external organisations including other universities, both local and throughout Europe, enabling us to share our knowledge and learn from best practice examples.
The Centre for Credit Rating offers an academic credit rating service to a wide range of businesses, employers, professional bodies and training organisations that deliver formal and informal learning and training in the workplace.
The Edinburgh Institute is a commercial, business-partnering enterprise within the business school at Edinburgh Napier University that combines leading-edge research and practical solutions to build strategic relationships with Scottish and global organisations through value-based activities incuding:
- Business advisory and consulting services;
- Executive education, programme accreditation and degree awards; and
- Bridging, CPD and work-based learning programmes.
Lifelong learning is vital in extending the University's reach and ensuring that under-represented groups within society have a right and access to education. In addition, many local businesses have gained from our knowledge and experience. In the long term, our work will benefit the Scottish society and economy.
