Working with SMEs
Based on a positive assessment of their potential for growth, small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) are referred to Edinburgh Napier University by local Economic Development Agencies. We work with the SMEs to first understand their businesses, and then help them to adopt and implement the right technologies for growth.
Our aim is to ensure that the businesses we work with see a tangible return on investment.
Our experience spans a wide range of sectors, from tourism and manufacturing to life sciences and renewables. We support companies in the planning and resourcing of technology, enabling them to grow the business and increase their dependence on IT business systems.
We work strategically with our clients’ senior managers to help guide plans and activities to meet the current and future needs of the business. Client support is delivered using recognised tried and tested methodologies, such as the European Foundation for Quality Management, which have been developed and refined over 8 years of successful delivery.
IT solutions are often outsourced to reputable external IT providers following our recommendations, although we do work with IT staff within the client business and sometimes a combination of the two.
Our portfolio is diverse and each of our projects are different. However, the methodical way in which we approach our work is always the same and we consistently receive excellent feedback from our clients.
