eBusiness Advance
We use the term eBusiness to mean exploiting the opportunities that technology can provide companies to help develop and grow their enterprises. Opportunities can present themselves in a wide variety of ways, and often companies benefit greatly from expert help when it comes to selecting and implementing these strategies for growth.
Edinburgh Napier University’s eBusiness Advance programme has been running since 2000. We are a key supplier of strategic eBusiness advice to high-growth companies, such as clients of Scottish Enterprise. Our eBusiness advisers have built up a wealth of knowledge and experience, supporting IT strategy development and implementation in over 200 high-growth companies and working with around 1,000 other businesses on their training and development needs. Our clients, from almost all sectors, range from very small local businesses to those with 200 or more staff and a £20million turnover.
As a university, we are entirely independent and impartial. When working with a business to create and implement an eBusiness strategy, our approach is about understanding the key business issues before we consider how technology should best be set up and managed within the company. Advice is tailored to meet specific needs.
One of the University’s key strategic objectives is to contribute to Scotland’s economic and social priorities. Through the eBusiness Advance programme we play a part in driving forward the achievements of the Scottish Government’s ‘Skills for Scotland’ strategy and the Government Economic Strategy for Scotland. By improving businesses and thereby enabling Economic Development Agencies to reach their targets, we help grow economies.

Our work is funded by Scottish Enterprise and European Regional Development Fund.
