Success Stories - Groupwork
"Knowing Yourself & Others - Effective Teamwork" for 2nd year Accounting students is run to help students communicate and assign roles and responsibilities according to individual strengths whilst conducting a business simulation project. This is followed in Week 10 with a learning review, providing students with an opportunity to debrief and evaluate with each other what went well and what, as individuals, may need further development when working in teams.

1st year Sports & Exercise students were put into their project working groups during the "Knowing Yourself & Others" session, allowing them to explore the potential implications of their individual preferred ways of working in the team, role assignment and to design effective team processes to optimise performance. Feedback from the module leader included "Barriers were broken down, relationships formed and effective working relationships were created amongst students assigned to a random group... I had a 5.5% increase in students' average grade in the group work assessment from those students participating in the workshop between 2008 and 2007, with an average mark of 60.5%"
