Get that Job - Stand out from the crowd!
This 2 day, fulltime and intensive course offers students the opportunity to acquire the skills, knowledge and understanding to sell themselves effectively to employers in today’s highly competitive job market.
Content of this workshop
Students will experience 5 sessions over the 2 days where they will:
- identify their key strengths, relevant to the employment they may seek
- understand what employers are looking for in interviews, and subsequently practise and hone their interview skills
- develop personal networking skills through both theory and practice
- practise their networking skills with industry professionals over lunch and get feedback on their performance
- generate personal career goals and a realistic action plan to achieve them
By the end of this workshop, students will have:
- identified personal strengths and weaknesses and ways to express them convincingly in the employment marketplace
- understood what employers are looking for, how to demonstrate and evidence that effectively, and received interactive feedback on how they come across to others in interview
- appreciated the importance of networking and learned networking techniques effective in seeking work and within the workplace itself. This session includes a networking lunch with selected industry professionals where students practise and receive feedback on their networking skills
- derived a personal set of short and longer term career goals, along with a considered action plan for achieving them
