Employer Mentoring
Mentoring is increasingly used by organisations and companies as a great way of helping people develop their skills and raise their self esteem. In a mentoring programme, successful, experienced people are trained to act as mentors to new, less experienced individuals.
In the Employer Mentoring Programme run by Edinburgh Napier University, professional people are recruited and trained to work with eligible students and help prepare them for the workplace. Students get the chance to meet with their mentor 4 times over the year, in their mentor's place of work. The programme is funded by the Big Lottery and aims to enhance the transition of eligible students into graduate level employment.
