Year 5 Destination Leaders Graduate from Edinburgh Napier University : May 2018

Congratulations were in order on Thursday 17 May 2018, when tourism and hospitality industry professionals from Glasgow and Edinburgh graduated from the award-winning Destination Leaders Programme at Edinburgh Napier University.

Rosie Street, Marketing Manager, Glasgow Science Centre, said: “I’ve thoroughly enjoyed being a part of the DLP programme. It’s fantastic to meet people I wouldn’t ordinarily meet and share thinking on our destinations. The programme has allowed us to hear from incredible speakers and learn from our course leaders who have a wealth of knowledge between them. I’ve enjoyed how practical the course has been too; it really allows you to take learnings back into your role and this is so useful at this stage in my career.”

Lee Walker, Duty Manager, The Bonham, said: “I’m very grateful to be a part of the Destination Leaders Programme in Scotland. Before moving to Scotland working in hotels very much felt like just a job and not a career. It wasn’t until my move to Edinburgh, becoming a part of the Bonham team and joining the DLP that I feel my professional choices have become validated”.

The Destination Leaders Programme, funded by Scottish Enterprise and delivered by Edinburgh Napier University, celebrates its fifth year in 2018, with the Year 5 cohort graduation bringing the total number of DLP alumni to just over 100 industry professionals; from Edinburgh, Glasgow, St. Andrews, Argyll and The Isles, Aberdeenshire, Perthshire and Tayside.
