The Destination Leaders Programme is a transformational investment for you, your business and your destination.

This award winning, academically accredited CPD is based on practice-based learning, previously funded by Scottish Government and delivered in partnership with Scottish Enterprise, Highlands & Islands Enterprise, South of Scotland Enterprise and Skills Development Scotland, as part of the Scottish Tourism Leadership Programme.

Skills Development for Tourism Professionals

Effective leadership is consistently identified as a key driver of growth for all business sectors, but tourism faces particular challenges, given the range, scale and mix of businesses that need to work together to deliver a great customer experience.

This innovative award-winning programme is fully funded by Scottish Enterprise, working alongside the Scottish tourism industry and delivered by Edinburgh Napier University.

Based on an internationally acclaimed initiative originating from Melbourne, Australia, the DLP is designed to equip emerging tourism leaders with the skills, knowledge and networks that they need to become effective destination leaders.

Eight previous programmes have been delivered to more than 150 participants from Edinburgh, Glasgow and all across Scotland. The most recent cohort (shown below) graduated in May 2022.
