In the Guardian University League Tables 2015, Edinburgh Napier University ranked as the top UK Modern University and the top Scottish Modern University for studying General Engineering and the top UK Modern University for studying Civil Engineering.

Our applied research with industry and government is highly valued and is rated as international and world leading. During the last four years out staff have worked with industry, government and leading research institutes involving over 45 countries.
Our research encompasses building performance, transport, geotechnics, energy and renewables, advanced materials, smartcities, offsite construction, construction technologies, sensors, acoustic engineering, innovative structures, timber engineering and wood science.
The school currently hosts the Institute for Sustainable Construction and the Transport Research Institute, two internationally leading research institutes.
