Problem Solving Skills

Description

A practical and effective course to support improvement activities in all types of organisations, especially manufacturing.

The course takes delegates systematically through the well-established DMAIC system (Define, Measure, Analyse, Improve, Control). Delegates be trained in the tools and uses of the techniques used in problem solving and how to establish a system for to eliminate recurring problems.

Some familiarity with knowledge of graphs and statistical processes would be useful for this course.

  1. Be able to describe and use the problem solving tools to establish reasons for variation/failure and pinpoint corrective actions.
  2. Use root cause analysis techniques correctly to fix problems on a right first time basis.
  3. Use SPC charting techniques to measure process variations utilising appropriate sample populations and interpreting SPC charts.
