Professor Mark Deakin, Head of the Centre for Sustainable Communities in the Institute of Sustainable Construction, shall present a paper at the upcoming Sixth World Sustainable Building Conference in Helsinki. The Conference addresses new opportunities for: improving the quality of life, mitigating effects of climate change and making new business
The Conference aims to share leading knowledge and find new solutions which can enhance sustainable ways of living and working within the built environment. To improve our current understanding of sustainable building techniques and to develop innovative solutions for the present and future, SB11 Helsinki will provide a vivid forum for discussion and networking between all stakeholders.
As a member of the Scientific Committee, Mark has been involved in the planning and development of the Conference Proceedings and shall present a paper entitled: Learning from What Works in Sustainable Community Development: Closing the Skills Gap and Raising the Competencies of Core Occupations.
