Biography

Barbara has more than 25 years of experience working in various large and small businesses and now runs her own consultancy company focusing on assisting companies globalise. She also writes and delivers bespoke training programmes covering topics from basic and advanced selling, customer service, to business planning and networking. She consults at all levels in training, business planning and strategy and has worked for big brand names such as Mars, Masterfoods, Walkers, Unilever, Dolmio, Heineken and Hellmans. She also lectures and trains in Selling, Entrepreneurship and Consumer Behaviour for Universities such as Edinburgh Napier and the Stockholm School of Economics. Barbara began her career with Tesco, working her way up to Trading Director with a final responsibility for over £400 million in sales and a team of more than 30 people. She now works internationally and is involved with companies from start up to high growth across the UK, Latvia, Lithuania, Russia, Romania and Italy and across industries from IT to Engineering, Professional Services to Food and Drink. She is a mentor for Edinburgh Chamber of Commerce and a trainer with Giraffe Training as a deliverer in the Smart Exporter training courses and an advisor with SDI on their Accelerator Programme. She holds a Marketing Degree, an MBA and has completed a Doctorate of Business focusing on customer retention/ customer service.
