Once you have found your ideal course, you’ll need to apply.  It’s not a difficult process, but you do need to know the correct procedures so that your application can be handled efficiently.

The Edinburgh Napier University Admissions Policy provides applicants and staff with an overview of the procedures that we have put in place to help ensure our admissions process is effective, efficient, and transparent for all applicants. More on the admissions policy.

Full-Time Undergraduate

For all our full-time undergraduate courses starting in September you need to apply through UCAS.  You should apply between 1st September 2010 and 15th January 2011 for September 2011 entry.  Once you have made your application through UCAS:

  1. You will receive confirmation from UCAS that your application(s) has been received.
  2. UCAS will pass your application onto Edinburgh Napier for consideration.
  3. When Edinburgh Napier receives your application it will be processed in line with our Admissions Policy and one of the following three decisions will be made – an unconditional offer, a conditional offer, or a rejection.
  4. Some courses require an interview, portfolio or audition before an offer can be made and applicants for these courses will be contacted regarding these arrangements.
  5. You can track your application and any decisions made on the UCAS Track site.
  6. Once we have made a decision on your application,  Edinburgh Napier will send this information to UCAS who will contact you.  In addition Edinburgh Napier will contact you directly with the decision.
  7. Once you have received all offers back from the courses and institutions you applied to, the decision is yours and you have the option of firmly accepting the offer, making the offer your insurance choice, or declining the offer.  Further information on how you do this is available from UCAS Track.  UCAS will inform you of the deadlines for responding to your offers and it is important that you respond by the deadline provided.
