Research & Project Development (RPD) comprises the functions of the Research Office and the Project Development Office. The RPD provides a comprehensive pre- and post-award support service to the University research and knowledge exchange (R&KE) community. We have extensive knowledge of European and UK funding and can help to create project bids, secure funding, manage and mainstream a successful project.
This service covers the whole portfolio of initiatives within the research spectrum from research degrees to blue sky research through applied research, knowledge exchange and on into fully commercialised activities. In line with European and UK Government policy and HE sector best practice, this now also encompasses: research capacity and researcher development; promotion of research-teaching links in conjunction with Academic Development; and translation of high quality research into impact which makes a difference beyond academia underpinning economic development and social renewal and promoting recovery and the path out of recession.
