Professor Martin Tangney has a scientific background that combines industry and academia. A recognised expert in the development of butanol as a second generation biofuel, he brings his considerable experience to bear as the Director of the Biofuel Research Centre (BfRC) which he established in Edinburgh Napier University in 2007.
The BfRC, which is funded by industry, the EU, research councils and Government, has achieved international prominence as a portal for the assimilation, integration and dissemination of knowledge and information across national and international academia, industry and Government.
