About us
As a centre of excellence and gateway linking Edinburgh Napier to the zero carbon and micro-renewables part of the Scottish Energy sector, the Centre is supported by several key staff who have gained considerable experience for applied research across the energy spectrum through various research contracts on behalf of public and private institutions and organisations. Close links with other centres across the University enable access to specialist equipment and software tools to support R&KT activities (Thermographic cameras, house pressurisation and air leakage, building heat flux, thermal comfort, energy & environmental monitoring, solar irradiance, noise & vibration).
Additionally, the activities and expertise of staff have been recognised at both national and international level; with involvement as member/special advisors to government, scientific and professional body committees.
The Scottish Energy Centre has a track record of securing funding mechanisms to support businesses; ranging from the 2kT Innovation Fund to Knowledge Transfer Partnerships.
