A multidatabase layer for the ODMG object model
The lack of a common object model has been addressed to some extent by the specification of the ODMG Object Model standard. However, the problem still exists for designers of object-oriented multidatabase systems. In this research we propose to use the ODMG object model in a multi-database environment by specifying an additional layer to manage the further requirements of these applications. This paper describes our definition of a view mechanism and a series of integration operators required for restructuring Schemas based on the ODMG-93 standard.
