Programme Leader: Ian Lambert
Students from the MDes programmes are due to finish in August and will be exhibiting work in progress for their Major Projects. All of our post-graduate students share a design studio and work together in generating and developing ideas. The show will consist of a working studio allowing you to view the processes and methods undertaken the their creative enquiry.
As of September 2011 our MDes programmes will merge into one programme suite – MA / MDes Design - with eight named pathways:
The new programme suite embraces the increasingly trans-disciplinary activities of the design profession and contemporary creative practice, while concurrently allowing students to refine and enhance skills within a specific design discipline.
At the outset of the programme students will develop and apply a range of research methods in redefining their own design practice and creative outlook. Pathway modules allow the development of specific design skills and also allow collaboration with practitioners from other areas, including those in engineering, the built environment and computing. Students also have the option of taking an MA or MDes award, depending on whether you complete a dissertation or design project report in trimester 3.
