Background:

Having graduated from Hull University, I joined Napier as a lecturer in Communication, I taught widely across the institution for a number of years, as well as contributing to, and becoming depute course leader, for HND Communication Studies. I studied part-time at Stirling to take an MPhil, and then led the development and introduction of the BA Communication, and its subsequent extension to Honours.

Research/ Practice/ Consultancy:

I am currently researching the history of the development of Communication as a field in British further and higher education.

I have a particular interest in the philosophy of communication, and have acted as a paper reviewer for the PhilCom section of the ICA (International Communication Association).

I have a track record of developing innovative methods of learning, teaching and assessment, including simulations, live projects and on-line delivery.
