With over 50 academics and 800 students we are one of the UK's largest computing departments.

Students working on a computer Our range of courses is second to none: from creative computing through web technologies, business information systems, general computing, software engineering and networking to security and forensics. We design our courses with our industrial partners to use all the latest technology in specialist labs such as our Cisco lab, embedded & wireless systems lab, digital forensics lab and our games development lab.

We build employability into every stage of our courses – through opportunities for work placement to our graduate mentoring scheme. The University is in Edinburgh’s top university for graduate employability (HESA 2010) and the school has professional graduates working for industry giants such Microsoft, Adobe & Sun Microsystems and building the Scottish economy in innovative new companies.

We attract students from all over the world, offering extensive support to encourage our international students to make the most of their time with us.
