We are a practical University with excellent links to industry. You'll learn from academics and industry professionals, who are experts in their fields.
Employers contribute in a variety of ways including course design, teaching, mentoring, placements and careers guidance, ensuring you’ll get the skills to move into employment or further study after graduating.
Designed in partnership
Our courses have been developed in partnership with employers and over 30 professional and statutory bodies. Our experienced staff also feed their expertise into course development and teaching.
All our courses are designed to:
- combine academic rigour with applied, professional and vocational learning, to improve your career prospects
- develop confident, employable graduates with high quality skills and attributes
- give you an international focus and build concepts of global citizenship and social responsibility
- offer you the opportunity for employment-related activities
95% of our graduates are in work or further study within six months of graduating, putting us in the top 15 in the UK (HESA 2015/16).
Work placements give you real, practical experience to support your academic learning, and an opportunity to develop your skills and confidence, boosting your employability. Placements are built into many of our courses – details of placements are on the course entry page.
Internships take place in your own time, usually during vacation periods, and are another great way of gaining experience and skills for future employment. Internships can be paid or unpaid.
