Personal support

Student needing supportWe know you’re not a study machine. Being at university can bring up a range of issues and create stresses in your personal life.

Whether you’re thinking of joining us, are a current student or one of our graduates, our Student Wellbeing team are on hand to help you access the services you need; such as confidential counselling, career development advice or immigration assistance. In addition to help with personal issues, we offer a wide range of study support and disability and inclusion if you need them.

You can also get free and confidential advice from ISAS, the Independent Student Advice Service, which is part of Napier Students' Association.

Crisis support

Our chaplains can offer confidential and non-judgemental support for any reason, and for as long as you need it. This service is operated by the Chaplaincy Service within Student Wellbeing and is absolutely private and confidential. This service is available as a resource for everybody in the University. The chaplains simply offer a safe place for care and support, to those who have a faith and those who don’t.

Call the Chaplains’ 24 hour helpline on 0131 455 2926.

Spirituality

The University chaplains offer a range of skills and experience gained in the community. As well as non-faith related support, they can also provide spiritual direction, advice in matters of faith, opportunities for workshop and prayer, and support in times of personal crisis.

They have varied experience from working in the community to advise and support you in matters such as bereavement & loss, HIV / AIDS and relationships. The team has strong links to other disciplines, and are aware of the importance of appropriate referral. Chaplains are happy to meet with you to discuss the traditional services of the Church, such as weddings and baptisms.
