This recital is in celebration of the Andrew Doig Bequest. Andrew was a much-loved and highly influential professor of voice at Edinburgh Napier University for many years. Through his work, Andrew nurtured many fine singers at the start of their careers, and he left a substantial legacy to the University to provide for masterclasses and concerts for the benefit of voice students.
This recital features two distinguished artists from Hamburg. Jale Papila is Head of Voice Training at the German Voice Clinic, and Franck-Thomas Link is Artistic Director of the Hamburg Chamber Arts Association. They present a mixed programme of German Lieder and French song by Mendelssohn, Brahms, Debussy and Hugo Wolf, which was especially dear to Andrew’s heart.
