In the 2016 Guardian League Table, Edinburgh Napier University was ranked 9th in Scotland overall. In the Building and the General Engineering subject areas, we were ranked 2nd in Scotland overall and were the top Scottish Modern University.

Our applied research with industry and government is highly valued and is rated as international and world leading. During the last four years out staff have worked with industry, government and leading research institutes involving over 45 countries.

Institute for Sustainable Construction

The Institute for Sustainable Construction (ISC) at Edinburgh Napier University comprises some of Scotland’s leading built environment applied research and knowledge transfer centres. Our centres cover a range of construction disciplines, industry sectors and technical performance factors.

Transport Research Institute

The Transport Research Institute is Scotland's largest and longest established transport research group. Established in 1996 we have an enviable track record in delivering high quality transport research, consultancy and other knowledge transfer projects in applied settings.
