The Cyber Academy

Electronic information now plays a vital role in almost every aspect of our daily lives. So the need for a secure and trustworthy online infrastructure is more important than ever. The Cyber Academy collaborates closely with financial sector and law enforcement professionals to address these issues.

Edinburgh Napier student wins worldwide cybersecurity competition

Student Charley Celice triumphed in the Tripwire Capture the Flag competition 2015. The cybersecurity competition provided an opportunity to test offensive skills in a safe environment and attracted more than 100 entries.

We make sure you get that real world experience. We have students who have worked with all kinds of people to understand what they get the right technology for people.

Professor Bill Buchanan

Bill Buchanan is a Professor in the School of Computing at Edinburgh Napier University, and a Fellow of the BCS and the IET. He currently leads the Centre for Distributed Computing, Networks and Security and The Cyber Academy, and works in the areas of security, cloud security, web-based infrastructures, e-Crime, cryptography, triage, intrusion detection systems, digital forensics, mobile computing, agent-based systems and security risk.
