Richard Llewellyn



Richard Llewellyn is a Chartered Civil Engineer with a wide range of experience in transport planning and engineering.  The first fifteen years of his career were spent in consultancy, developing a broad range of technical and project management experience across a wide variety of projects.  During his final four years in consultancy he led a team of over twenty five technical staff across two offices.   His technical experience ranges from conceptual scheme design and public consultation to detailed design and civil engineering implementation. He has written several technical standards and contributed to the development of local and national transport policy.  He specialises in the areas of traffic engineering, mobility management, traffic signals, road safety and also has an interest in railway transportation.   He currently teaches on several of the university’s modules in transportation and is in the process of undertaking his own PhD studies.   He contributes to several technical design panels and is a committee member of the Chartered Institution of Highways and Transport Scotland region.
