Biography

Dr Renata Osowska graduated in business management at the University of Wroclaw (Poland) with an MSc in Public Administration. She also studied law at Christian Albrecht’s University in Kiel, Germany (Erasmus Scholarship) before moving to Scotland where she completed her PhD in Entrepreneurship at the University of the West of Scotland (UWS). She also completed PgCert in Business Research Methods (UWS, Scotland), PgCert in Learning and Teaching in HE and PgCert in Blended and Online Education (ENU, Scotland).

Renata is an awarded researcher in entrepreneurship and small business development specialising in investigating the influence of culture and socio-economic environment on entrepreneurial behaviour, including entrepreneurial mobility and society. She is supervising students from doctoral to undergraduate level and she is a Research Lead and dissertations coordinator for Entrepreneurship and Innovation Group. Recently she also became a Deputy Research Degrees Lead at the Business School.

Renata has an extensive teaching experience in F2F, blended, online and TNE education. Currently, she is a module leader for Ug Exploring Entrepreneurship module and programme leader for BA Business & Enterprise (online).

Previous to lecturing at ENU, she was working in different industries in Poland, Germany, Ireland and England before taking a role of an associate lecturer at the UWS, teaching various topics on entrepreneurship and business research methods.

She is a Senior Fellow of the HEA, RSA Fellow and a member of various academic organisations (e.g. ISBE, ECSB).
She is also acting as the European Council for Small Business and Entrepreneurship Country Vice President for the UK and is an Associate Editor for Entrepreneurial Business and Economics Review (EBER).
