Debugging Ontologies Dataset
Visualization has been widely used for the representation of ontologies. However, to the best of our knowledge, visualization has been little employed in ontology debugging. Effective ontology debugging is crucial for engineers and domain experts to have confidence that their ontologies satisfactorily represent the intended domain. In this dataset, performed a qualitative study of 10 experienced ontology engineers, and determined that concept diagrams can provide additional debugging support for engineers, and moreover can give engineers higher confidence in their repairs. However, this additional support is not universal; the inferential advantage of using concept diagrams is eroded for certain description logic axiom combinations. The study was conducted in autumn 2016.
