Distributed Monitoring: Methods, Means and Technologies
Monitoring has been described by Joyce et al. as “the process of dynamic collection, interpretation and presentation of information concerning objects or software processes under scrutiny”. In his book on network and system management, Sloman has later defined distributed monitoring as “the essential means for obtaining the information required about the components of a distributed system in order to make management decisions and subsequently control their behavior”.
