Cuan Sound Transport Links STAG Appraisal
For the island community of Luing, access to and from the mainland is currently solely dependent on ferry services. Consequently access to employment and services is more expensive and less convenient than for mainland communities. Users of the current services regularly experience problems with reliability, capacity and continuity. This study will investigate the problems, constraints and opportunities for transport links between the island of Luing, over the Cuan Sound, to the mainland, including the roads infrastructure on either side of the link. The appraisal will be undertaken in accordance with the Scottish Transport Appraisal Guidance (STAG).
