Our Childcare Fund provides financial help towards registered and formal childcare for eligible matriculated students. Some students who are not eligible to apply to the Childcare Fund may still be able to get financial help towards their essential childcare costs from the University Discretionary Fund.
The University Childcare Fund, provided by the Scottish government, can mainly assist eligible student parents with the cost of formal registered childcare costs during term-time.
Limited support may be available during the summer e.g. for those needing to re-sit exams or attend academically required placements.
Full time UK Postgraduate Students who have been awarded the Postgraduate Tuition Fee Loan by SAAS may be eligible to apply to the University Childcare Fund for help towards the cost of essential registered childcare to enable them to attend their course.
Those UK registered postgraduate students who aren’t eligible to apply directly to the Childcare Fund may be eligible to apply instead to the University Discretionary Fund.
UK Part time students may be eligible to apply for help with childcare costs from the University Discretionary Fund.
Once you are a student at Edinburgh Napier University you can apply to the fund whenever you need to throughout the year.
Deadlines may be in place before the Christmas/New Year holiday break, but the only time applications close is during mid-July and mid-August each year between academic/financial years.
