“Thank you”

We can’t thank you enough for your wonderful support. You’re making an incredible difference to the future of our university, our students, and even our society.

But you don’t have to take our word for it. Here are just some of the people who would like to share their gratitude with you.

"Thank you for providing me with endless inspiration”

“It was an honour to receive the Lawrence Ho Scholarship. It meant that I could continue studying with my inspirational tutor, who helped me sharpen my skills as a composer and develop my own sound.”

“Your support has inspired me to help others by giving back to the community. I want to use what I have learnt to make a difference to people’s lives, just as you have made a difference to mine.”

Linyi Isaiah Tam, Music Student

“Thank you for pushing the boundaries of knowledge”

“Your support is helping tackle the chronic problems of poverty and deforestation in Kenya, by funding our work to combine mangrove forest conservation with community development.

“You have brought together researchers and students from across the world to collaborate on a project that will have an impact globally – far beyond the precious forests of Kenya.”

Professor Mark Huxham, Environmental Biology

“Thank you for helping us get the most out of university”

“Our public engagement grant was invaluable. It brought to life our ambitious plan to improve the student experience, by developing new services such as the volunteering initiative vBase.

“vBase allows students to find opportunities for volunteering, using an interactive database. It benefits the students, their studies, and the places where they volunteer. It’s win win win.”

Edinburgh Napier Student’s Association

“Thank you for making me see the world differently”

“I was given funding to go on an exchange with another drama school in China. It allowed me to experience a culture that I had only dreamed of, expanding my personal and professional horizons.

“The exchange gave me a new view of what I have achieved in my own life, and it helped me see what I would like to do now. I will never forget my time in China. I am forever grateful to this grant.”

Gabrielle Kitson, Drama Student

“Thank you for helping me believe in myself”

“My grant allowed me to conduct a study into antibiotic resistance. One day, this research could save lives – understanding why antibiotics don’t work could lead to the development of better treatments.

“But for now, the project definitely had an impact on my own life. It enabled me to show potential employers what I could do, and helped me gain confidence within myself and my capabilities as a scientist.”

Gemma Hinch, Biomedical Science Student
