Brief Biography
Dr Linda Juleff is the Business School Director, Learning, Teaching and Assessment. As an active member of the Economics Network and Honorary Secretary of the Scottish Economic Society she is involved in the strategic development of economics at national level in terms of both teaching and research. She further fulfils this role via her consultancy work with the Government Economic Service.
In her role as Subject Group Leader for Economics she was responsible for negotiating Edinburgh Napier’s membership of the Scottish Institute for Research in Economics, and maintains her role as the School liaison with both SIRE and other external economics related bodies. She is also an external examiner/assesor for four UK Universities and one University overseas.
Linda has significant experience of the development and teaching of economics, financial services and management related programmes. This includes a range recent programme developments within the UK, with overseas partners and in collaboration with corporate organisations.
Key Research Activities
MPhil/PhD supervisor and external examiner.
Recent funded research projects include “The Financial Services Environment”, “Second year student retention”, and “Linking Research and Teaching in Economics”
Member of the Employment Research Institute and core group member of the Hub for Education Research at Edinburgh Napier (HEREN).
Conference organiser for Scottish Economic Society conferences, RSAI: BIS conferences and Local Organising Committee member for the 2008 European Regional Science Association conference.
